You Are What You Eat

Respect Your Body and It Will Respect you

The world we live in today has become very costly and demanding, people bend over backwards in the pursuit of success. Unfortunately many do this at the expense of their own health, and after years of work they find that they are not healthy and are not happy with their appearance. They then turn to extreme measures to attain their idea of a perfect body, which isn’t even a healthy body. Falling prey to the stereotypes portrayed in the media of what an ideal body should look like, when in reality there are different body types and the important thing is not how you look, but rather, are you healthy?

Many of these future problems can be avoided if a solid healthy routine is set up from a young age. It is as important to take care of your body as it is to take care of your home, just as you clean your house daily or weekly, your body too needs to be maintained. People would do well to investigate what they eat and what they drink, and what kind of effective is it having in on their body. As young professionals we are on our feet all day, every day, or we spend countless hours sitting in front of a computer racking our brains. Either way we need our bodies to be strong and fit, we need to get our blood pumping, exercise helps to clear your mind and releases stress.

Exercise and healthy eating is more time consuming than sitting at home and ordering food, most people would rather stay home and enjoy a bottle of wine, or go out for drinks with their friends.  But what you eat every single day has a direct effect on you, and not just your weight, but your health, your skin, your hair, your teeth and even your breath. Your physical appearance tells a story about your diet, take some time and treat your body with respect and in turn it will respect you. It’s not until we have babies and our babies have babies that we regret and wish we would have put in that time. Granted it can be time consuming, but the best thing to do is to set up a simple routine, one that you can keep up with, Google easy healthy meals online or invest in a recipe book. Avoid salt and soda, have sweet potatoes instead of potatoes, and a skipping rope can go a long way.
There are so many little tips that make a big difference,  we all owe it to our bodies to watch what we eat and take the time to go for a run.
